A photo shoot that was improvised [EN-ES]

My entry to the #monomad challenge

I recently had to get up early to take my wife to a conference far from home. Luckily we stopped by to pick up my camera because on the way to her conference we passed by a place I had long wanted to photograph, so the planets aligned. After dropping it off at the conference venue, I went back the same way we came and stopped in front of an opening to the mouth of the Almendares River. This river is well known throughout Havana, but I had never had time to photograph the area around its mouth to the sea.

That's why I got off the bike, took the camera and set out to take a few minutes to capture the place. To my misfortune, the time I went there was after 9am, so the lighting was not ideal for landscape photos and the sky was very clear, there were hardly any clouds. Even so, I went for a shot at that time.

Hace poco me tuve que levantar temprano para llevar a mi esposa a una conferencia lejos de casa. Por suerte pasamos a recoger mi cámara pues de camino a su conferencia pasamos por un lugar que hace mucho quería fotografiar, así que los planetas se alinearon. Luego de dejarla en el lugar de la conferencia, volví por donde mismo llegamos y pare frente a una apertura hacia la desembocadura del rio Almendares. Este rio es conocido en toda La Habana, pero nunca había podido tener algo de tiempo para fotografiar los alrededores de su desembocadura al mar.

Es por ello que me baje de la moto, tome la cámara y me dispuse a tomarme unos minutos para captar el lugar. Para mi mala fortuna, el horario en que fui era pasado las 9am por lo que la iluminación ya no era idónea para fotos de paisajes y el cielo estaba muy despejado, apenas había nubes. Aun así, me lance a lograr algo en aquel momento.

It is worth mentioning that the state of the river is not good at all. Too much pollution and too little effort to clean it up. You can see it in the following pictures, the shore is a total disaster and you can see how those who live around it throw anything away because of the amount of scavenger birds that were there. Hopefully someday it will be solved because at the rate we are going and from my experience, they don't usually do anything about it.

Cabe mencionar que el estado del rio no es nada bueno. Demasiada contaminación y muy poco empeño por limpiarlo. Pueden verlo en las siguientes imágenes, la orilla es un desastre total y se nota como quienes viven alrededor desechan cualquier cosa por la cantidad de aves carroñeras que había. Ojalá algún día se resuelva porque al paso que vamos y por mi experiencia, no suelen hacer nada por ello.

My intention is to come back again at a sunset or sunrise time to have better results and also to be able to use the tripod that I didn't have with me at that time. Let's see when I can come back. I look forward to your comments with your opinions. Best regards to all.

Mi intención es volver nuevamente en un horario de atardecer o amanecer para tener mejores resultados y además poder hacer uso del trípode que no lo tenía conmigo en ese momento. Vamos a ver cuándo poder volver. Espero sus comentarios con vuestras opiniones. Un saludo a todos.
