Amor Brujo, photography inside a theater [EN-ES]

Amor Brujo is a play that I was able to attend recently and that was a challenge for me as a photographer due to the low lighting. I already talked about it a few days ago in this publication but focused only on the role of fire in the different scenes where it was used. Today I want to give you through my photos a brief summary of what this play was and if you are Cuban maybe you can see it if it is performed again. From the beginning you will meet his orchestra as the show begins, the work is musical and very flamenco style in my opinion that I love, so it has an orchestra full of young artists who harmonize and are part of each staging.

Amor Brujo es una obra de teatro a la que pude asistir hace poco y que me resulto un reto como fotógrafo dada la poca iluminación. Ya les hable hace unos días de ella en esta publicación pero enfocado solamente en el papel del fuego en las distintas escenas donde se uso. Hoy les quiero dar a través de mis fotos un breve resumen de lo que fue esta obra y si eres cubano quizás puedas verla si se vuelve a realizar. De entrada conocerás a su orquesta a medida que da comienzo el espectáculo, la obra es musical y muy al estilo flamenco en mi opinión que me encanta, por ello posee una orquesta plagada de jóvenes artistas que armonizan y forman parte de cada puesta en escena.

The story that narrates the work is nothing more than a tale of love between spells of two people who are looking for each other even if one of them does not want to admit it. On the left is the person who, with a voice that is a pleasure to listen to, narrates the events as they unfold. Each scene narrates the fears and wanderings of this person in search of that love, to the point of being able to attract it by means of a spell. On the right, who does not want to make his feelings known but is dragged to it by the spell that brings him from the sea to the shores that have always been his home. In words it will always be difficult to explain what generates a play and therefore I advise you to see it if you have the opportunity.

La historia que nos narra la obra no es mas que un relato de amor entre hechizos de dos personas que se buscan aunque uno de ello no quiera admitirlo. A la izquierda ven la persona, que con una voz que da gusto escuchar, narra los sucesos a medida que transcurre todo. En cada escena se narra los miedos y andares de esta persona en búsqueda de ese amor, al punto de mediante un hechizo poder atraerlo. A la derecha quien no quiere dar a conocer sus sentimientos pero es arrastrado a ello mediante ese hechizo que lo trae desde el mar hasta las costas que siempre fueron su hogar. En palabras siempre será difícil explicar lo que genera una obra de teatro y por ello aconsejo verla si tienes la oportunidad.

From the photographic point of view I want to leave a couple of tips in case you have the opportunity to go to one with your camera in hand. In my case I took my 50mm which is bright but did not allow me to change the framing at will or make close-ups, that's why I tried to play with that scenario on many occasions. I also took a telephoto lens that allowed me to make those close shots but not being bright I had to use a very high ISO and that creates some noise that can bother, in this case it was not like that and the last 4 images are proof of it. With my previous camera this was impossible because an ISO of 10000 was pure noise, thanks to the fact that I now have my Canon RP it is possible for me to do this kind of work. The second and last tip is to take the time to go before so you can familiarize yourself with the environment. This way you will be able to find the best place for what you want to do, in my case much more because it was the second time I attended this work, so I already knew what would happen except for some surprises.

Desde el punto de vista fotográfico quiero dejarles un par de consejos por si tienen la oportunidad de ir a una con su cámara en mano. Lleva un lente luminoso y si no es fijo mucho mejor, en mi caso lleve mi 50mm que es luminoso pero no me permitía cambiar el encuadre a mi antojo o hacer planos cerrados, es por ello que trate de jugar con eso escenario en muchas ocasiones. Además lleve un lente tele que me permitió hacer esos planos cerrados pero al no ser luminosos debí utilizar un ISO muy alto y eso crea cierto ruido que puede molestar, en este caso no fue así y las ultimas 4 imágenes son prueba de ello. Con mi anterior cámara esto último me era imposible pues un ISO de 10000 era puro ruido, gracias a que ya tengo mi Canon RP que me es posible realizar estos trabajos. El segundo consejo y último es que te tomes el tiempo de ir antes para que puedas familiarizarte con el ambiente. De esta forma podrás encontrar el mejor lugar para lo que quieres hacer, en mi caso mucho mas pues era la segunda vez que asistía a esta obra, por lo que ya conocía lo que sucedería a excepción de algunas sorpresas.
