Crafting a Living [EN-ES]

You're arriving at the Safari with your camera in hand, looking to meet up with your photographer friends and models, but suddenly you look down and find the floor full of tools and wood shavings. You look up and find this man carving a piece of wood. You walk over to find out a little about what he's doing, but you're a photographer and you like to save what you see on a small SD card in your camera, so you ask the man if you can take a few pictures of him.

He nods and as you watch him some more, you turn on and set up the camera. Little by little you think about what this person's daily work is like, how many works he creates a day, and how many he sells to tourists in order to make a living. You notice how the light falls on him and you admire how he goes about his work in such a way that it looks like a movie scene. You stand up, you look around, and you notice that he is more than just one man, his works accompany him. You widen the frame and take one last photo, one that encompasses the person in his everyday environment without the hustle and bustle that exists in the surroundings, as if in all that only he exists.

Vas llegando al Safari con tu cámara en la mano, buscando encontrarte con tus amigos fotógrafos y modelos, pero de repente miras al suelo y te encuentras el piso lleno de herramientas y virutas de madera. Alzas la vista y te encuentras a este señor tallando un trozo de madera. Te acercas para conocer un poco sobre lo que está haciendo, pero eres fotógrafo y te gusta guardar lo que vez en una pequeña tarjeta SD que tiene tu cámara, así que le pides al hombre que te permita hacerle unas fotos.

Él asiente con la cabeza y mientras lo observas un poco más, vas encendiendo y configurando la cámara. Poco a poco vas pensando en cómo es el trabajo diario de esta persona, cuantas obras crea al día y cuantas vende a los turistas para poder subsistir. Notas como la luz cae sobre él y admiras como va realizando su trabajo de tal forma que te parece una escena cinematográfica. Te levantas, miras alrededor, notas que es más que un solo hombre, sus obras le acompañan. Amplias el encuadre y haces una última foto, una que englobe a la persona en su ambiente cotidiano sin el ajetreo que existe en los alrededores, como si en todo aquello solo existiese él.

You thank him and continue on your way to meet the safarers. But everything was saved in a small SD card of a camera and today, also in a small block of a blockchain.

Le agradeces y sigues tu camino hacia el encuentro de los safareros. Pero todo quedo guardado en una pequeña SD de una cámara y hoy, también en un pequeño bloque de una blockchain.
