My first professional portraits [EN-ES]

Hello everyone, today I want to talk to you about what for me were my first professional portraits on location. I say this because it was at a time when I already felt confident in my abilities as a photographer knowing that I had a long way to go and I still have a long way to go.

These photos came from a sweepstakes I did a few years ago on my Instagram account (you have the link at the end) and if I remember correctly it was one of the first sweepstakes I did. I see sweepstakes as a way to get out of my comfort zone and like everyone on instagram attract followers in an organic way. This time this girl won and what was different about this session was that we were able to go up to the rooftop of a hotel where the view was spectacular.

But first we started on the street before going up and I noticed a horse-drawn carriage parked in front of the hotel. I talked to the owner and he allowed us to use it to take some pictures, I show you below the one I liked the most due to the contrast of colors that is created between the background and the model with the car seat.

Hola a todos, hoy quiero hablarles sobre los que para mí fueron mis primeros retratos profesionales en exteriores. Digo esto porque fue en un momento en el cual ya me sentía seguro de mis capacidades como fotógrafo a sabiendas de que me quedaba mucho camino por recorrer y aun me queda.

Estas fotos surgieron de un sorteo que hice hace unos años en mi cuenta de Instagram (tienen el enlace al final) y si mas no recuerdo fue de los primero sorteos que hice. Veo los sorteos como una forma de salir de salir de mi zona de confort y como todos en instagram atraer seguidores de una forma orgánica. En esta ocasión gano esta muchacha y lo diferente de esta sesión fue que logramos subir a la azotea de un hotel donde la vista era espectacular.

Pero primeramente comenzamos en la calle antes de subir y me llamo la atención un coche que es tirado por caballos, precisamente estaba parqueado frente al hotel. Hable con el dueño y nos permitió usarlo para hacer algunas fotos, de ella les muestro a continuación la que más me gusto debido al contraste de colores que se crea entre el fondo y la modelo con el asiento del coche.

In the following photos we were on the roof of the hotel and while we were waiting for a few drinks I took this portrait between the leaves of a decorative plant. Then we moved to the edges of the place to capture the view of Havana in the background or the surrounding buildings as you can see in the following images.

Ya en las siguientes fotos estábamos en la azotea del hotel y en lo que esperábamos unos tragos le hice este retrato entre las hojas de una planta decoración. Ya luego nos movimos a los bordes del lugar para poder captar la vista de la habana de fondo o de los edificios alrededor como ven en las siguientes imágenes.

From here we made a change of clothes to contrast more with the flat colors of the place.

A partir de aquí hicimos un cambio de ropa para contrastar mas con los colores planos del lugar.

I always end up doing some close-up portraits and the wind at this altitude gave me another element in these portraits.

Siempre termino haciendo unos retratos de planos más cerrados y el viento que existía a dicha altura me proporcionó un elemento más dentro de estos retratos.
