People on the streets [EN-ES]
This year has been especially difficult for me when it comes to photography, I have spent many months without a camera and any length of time without a camera for a photographer is bad. At the beginning of the year I sold my Canon 700D because I was in the process of buying a Canon RP, the smallest of the R family and although I bought it, I couldn't get my hands on it until almost 8 months later because the pandemic prevented me from moving it from United States to Cuba.
Even so, I have been able to take advantage of these last months of the year and take up photography again, which is why I present so few photos in the contest launched by @derangedvisions. But here I am, I just have to keep improving as a photographer in the next year and thus overcome that time without being able to do what I like the most. I hope you like the selection of my best photos of the year and I would love you to help me select the best of all, that is why I am going to add a title to each and you can tell me your choice in the comments. Let's go there!
I made this image in an abandoned theater and almost in collapse, at least it had almost no roof. What I most sought was to show a little of the situation that existed during this year in my Cuba, not only because of the pandemic but also because of the incidents and the bad economic situation we are in.
This was made in a place that I had not seen before, it is the surroundings of a hotel and I liked it because of its clean and clear space. It creates peace and great contrast with almost any object or person. That's why I went with my girlfriend and we got this photo, beyond that she wanted to release the clothes that she had bought at that time.
This was done during one of the Safaris where we got together many photographers and models to create together. Halloween was approaching so I gave it a somewhat satanic or terrifying touch for the date.
Continuing the theme of Halloween and during the same day, I made the following taking advantage of that person from the basement of a building, almost all the models that day were prepared for the theme and this person even took devil horns.
I could not miss in this compilation some wedding photos, it is something that I am passionate about doing and it always leaves a good feeling. This couple allowed me to be their photographer for their long-awaited date and this particular image caught my eye.
In each wedding there is always that moment where the bride and groom enjoy their day and as a photographer you must be aware of what they do to capture them with total naturalness, this image identifies one of those moments of that day and that you capture without looking at the camera so It happened quickly but I really liked the result.
In November I went with my friends to the coast of the city's bay and we created the following portraits. This was the one that I liked the most because of the ray of light on her hair and that despite being against the light I was able to learn that my camera can recover a lot of information from the shadows whenever I shoot in RAW format.
In the next one, the hair color takes all the attention, it adds a good contrast with the sea and the clothes, in addition to highlighting the girl's blue eyes. She only would have preferred to open the focal length of the lens more to define her hair a little more, although the important thing is the look and it is well focused.
The next model is a dance student and in each photo of her they focus on the dance poses that she can do and that are striking, I was somewhat simpler and only made portraits of her. The gestures that are made when dancing transmit but everything is born in the look and therefore when transmitting you must focus your gaze reflecting what you think, I think I was able to capture something of it.
This image was quite a surprise, I already talked about it in a previous post and it had to be in this compilation. For me to represent having advanced as an editor by keeping the cutouts and composition clean, it seems to be in New York for real, the magic of Photoshop. Soon I plan to create editing tutorials or at least show my workflow when editing these types of images.
I want to end by thanking everyone for supporting my work since I enter the community, the curators for their hard work and especially @eddiespino for helping me in my beginnings within Hive. 2022 will be better for all of us and even better for Hive to grow.
