Portrait of one of the most important people in Cuba [EN-ES]

My entry to the #monomad challenge

Hello black and white lovers. Rarely do we as photographers have the pleasure of being able to portray great personalities, but recently I was able to portray a person very well known by the Cuban people. José Rubiera is for you that person you see on the news giving the weather report, who tells you if it is raining or sunny, but for Cubans he is much more than that. Beyond being the greatest expert in the field of meteorology in the country, he is the person who just by being on television, brings calm to the people in times of hurricanes or tornadoes. Our country is often hit by hurricanes due to our geographical position and I don't think there is any way to describe the peace that this man brings to people just by going out that day to give the weather report.

Three days ago I had the opportunity to meet him in person and talk with him, to my happiness he is a lover of photography for a long time, I leave you his Instagram so you can see the photos that travels have allowed him to make. We coincide in the choice of camera as well, as he is in the process of acquiring the same model and brand of camera as me, a Canon RP, this led us to chat even more about my experience with that model and comparisons that as photographers we always enjoy. Imagine the importance of his person, that while we were talking we didn't notice the line of people that was forming to take pictures with him. It was quite an experience and I hope someday I can learn more about his way of seeing photography.

Hola amantes del blanco y negro. Pocas veces tenemos el placer de como fotógrafos poder retratar a grandes personalidades pero hace poco pude retratar a una persona muy conocida por el pueblo cubano. José Rubiera es para ustedes esa persona que ven en los noticieros dando el parte del tiempo, quien les comenta si llueve o hace sol, pero para los cubanos es mucho mas que eso. Mas allá de ser el mayor experto en el ámbito de meteorología del país, es la persona que con solo estar en televisión trae calma a la personas en tiempos de huracanes o tornados. Nuestro país suele ser azotado mayormente por huracanes dada nuestra posición geográfica y no creo haya manera e describir la paz que le da este hombre a las personas con solo salir ese día a dar el parte del tiempo.

Hace tres días tuve la oportunidad de conocerlo en persona y de conversar con el, para mi felicidad es un amante de la fotografía desde hace mucho tiempo, les dejo su Instagram para que puedan ver las fotos que los viajes le han permitido realizar. Coincidimos en la elección de cámara además, pues esta en proceso de adquirir el mismo modelo y marca de cámara que yo, una Canon RP, esto nos llevo a charlar aun mas sobre mi experiencia con dicho modelo y comparaciones que como fotógrafos siempre disfrutamos. Imaginen la importancia de su persona, que mientras conversábamos no nos dimos cuenta de la cola de personas que se estaba formando para hacerse fotos con él. Fue toda una experiencia y espero algún día poder aprender mas sobre su forma de ver la fotografía.
