My entry to the #monomad challenge
Hello black and white lovers. I haven't been posting in this great community for a while because I have little time to edit, recently I had a big session and I have barely been able to edit half of the photos, but today I was able to edit some of them. Two days ago I went to a job interview to be a photojournalist for a Cuban magazine and on the way to the place I took these photos, many times I have to put together several things at once like that day to be able to do what I like. If I get the job as a photographer for the magazine I will have time to bring more content to this community.
But let's talk about today's photos, the place I went to is very close to the Capitol, which is the huge building that you see in the following photos and that I had already talked about in another occasion in this post. These were the first photos I took and I decided to give them a dramatic style with high contrast of light and shadow. For the following ones I adopted the same style since I took them at the same time of the day.
Hola amantes del blanco y negro. Llevo un tiempo que no posteo en esta gran comunidad por tener poco tiempo para editar, hace poco tuve una sesión grande y apenas he podido editar la mitad de las fotos, pero ya hoy pude editar algunas. Hace dos días fui a una entrevista de trabajo para ser fotorreportero de una revista cubana y en el camino al lugar hice estas fotos, muchas veces debo juntar varias cosas a la vez como ese día para poder hacer lo que me gusta. De obtener el trabajo como fotógrafo de la revista podre tener tiempo para traer mas contenido a esta comunidad.
Pero hablemos ya de las fotos de hoy, el lugar al que fui queda muy cerca del Capitolio que es el edificio enorme que ven en las siguientes fotos y del que ya les había hablado en otra ocasión en esta publicación. Estas fueron las primeras fotos que hice y decidí darles un estilo dramático con alto contraste de luz y sombra. Para las siguientes adopte el mismo estilo dado que las realice en la misma hora del día.
In the next four photos I focused on capturing the life around the place I was in, from people walking to people reading. I love how in the first one I was able to capture the gaze of a worker on the people passing by on the street, maybe he knew them, but the image is accentuated by the subjects being separated in opposite sections, the worker in the high light area and the passersby in the shadows.
En las cuatro fotos siguientes me enfoque en captar la vida alrededor del lugar donde estaba, desde personas caminando hasta algunos leyendo. Me encanta como en la primera pude captar la mirada de un obrero sobre las personas que pasaban cerca en la calle, quizás las conocía, pero la imagen se acentúa al estar los sujetos separados en secciones opuestas, el obrero en la zona de altas luces y los transeúntes en la zonas de las sombras.
In this last one I found interesting the way the sunlight penetrated between the building and the parking lot. That's why I took a few minutes to get the image, because I didn't want any person to be in the frame and in that place it's something difficult to achieve. En esta última me pareció interesante la forma en que la luz del sol penetraba entre la construcción y el parqueo de autos. Por ello me tome unos minutos para lograr la imagen, pues no quería que ninguna persona quedara en el encuadre y en ese lugar es algo difícil de lograr. Sin mas, espero que les hayan gustado las imágenes y me puedan dar su opinión. Espero poder hacer otra escapada por las calles de mi ciudad para lograr llegar rápido a la versión 10 de estos artículos sobre fotografía callejera que tanto me gusta hacer. Nos vemos pronto 👋.
